Ichigo Kurosaki had always had the ability to see spirits, but his life as a high-school student was pretty normal, until he met the shinigami (Death God) Rukia Kuchiki. After Rukia is injured protecting him from an attacking evil spirit, Ichigo gains the power of a Shinigami to protect his family. Now a fully-fledged Soul Reaper himself, Ichigo quickly learns that the world he inhabits is one full of dangerous spirits and, along with Rukia, it's Ichigo's job to protect the innocent from Hollows and help the spirits themselves find peace.
